This is what the flowers look like when the Agave begins to bloom.
I missed the bloom on the Agave cactus two pictures down when I was back east. It either finished blooming or they cut the stem off. This is another Agave in the neighborhood. As you can see, the stem is so heavy that it can lean over if the plant is not perfectly straight. This stem was cut the next day since it was leaning over the road.
Spring rains bring out the beautiful dessert and cactus flowers.
